Harvest Sacramento: Loquat Season

Harvest Sacramento: Loquat Season
Gleaning

There’s a good chance that right now there are loquat trees with ripe fruit in your neighborhood at risk of going unharvested this year.

Help us prevent food waste and increase food access in the Sacramento area by notifying us of these trees so that our resident led neighborhood harvest groups can glean and donate the fruit back to their community, or to people in need from throughout the region through Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services and their extensive network of food access partner agencies.

Trees can be submitted for gleaning via a form on the Soil Born Farms website.

You can also help to glean the fruit by volunteering with one of our neighborhood harvest groups or by becoming a harvest leader and starting a new group in your neighborhood. Our next training is May 27th.
